September marks the start of Gynaecological Awareness Month; we want to take this opportunity to highlight an amazing organization that we support here at Go Media through our Good Impressions initiative – Talk Peach.

Talk Peach is a New Zealand Charity focused on bringing awareness to and supporting those with gynaecological cancers.

Tash Crosby founded Talk Peach in 2019, after her battle with ovarian cancer. Seeing the need for more awareness around gynaecological health - Tash created Talk Peach to provide education, support, and research, centered around gynaecological cancers.

“There are no screening tools for 4 out of the 5 gynaecological cancers. Yet most New Zealanders think their recommended three yearly cervical smear keeps them safe.”

Most of us have heard of cervical cancer, because of our national three yearly screening program. But as for the other four types (ovarian, uterine, vaginal and vulval) there is no screening available and very little public knowledge on these cancers.

This Gynaecological Awareness Month, Talk Peach is working hard to change that. Focusing on their mission to educate the public, destigmatize conversations on gynaecological health and raise the much-needed funds to help those diagnosed.

We are extremely proud to support Talk Peach in increasing awareness of gynaecological health. Working alongside the organization by providing them with a strong presence on our nationwide digital billboard network.

“To get our message out so far and wide has been incredible for us. Education empowers and saves lives, and on such a large scale, well, that’s priceless. When I was diagnosed there was nothing, and now there are huge educational billboards, I've cried about it; it means so much to us, for this group of cancers to be finally seen, and supported.”

The money Talk Peach raises this month will go towards continuing their life-saving educational work and supporting those diagnosed with meals and physio rehabilitation. Funds will also go towards research and distribution of their new ‘Our Ovarian Cancer Support Guide’ (coming soon).
