Go Media Hosts 'Go Green, Go Clean' Beach Clean
Last Friday Go Media invited a few of their clients and partners to participate in an Auckland beach clean in support of their Good Impressions partner, Sustainable Coastlines.
Taking place at Point England Reserve in East Auckland, Go Media alongside The Blues, Northern Mystics, Netball NZ, Rascal Media, D3 and Stuff Media’s ‘Kea Kids’ rolled up their sleeves and helped to pick up litter around the beach and park area in an effort to maintain the shine to our local shores.
While the beach had been cleaned earlier that day, the GO-Getters removed a whopping 200L of rubbish, including shoes, underwear, cans, plastic wrapping, nappies, and glass bottles.
“As we sponsor over 100 organisations nationwide it’s not often that we get to spend quality time with each one, so hosting Go Green, Go Clean was a fantastic way to bring together our partners and clients while giving back to our local community” comments Isabella Dervan, Marketing Specialist at Go Media.
Some of the Blues and Northern Mystics players were in attendance also including Hoskins Sotutu, Sam Darry, Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens, Phoenix Karaka, Grace Nweke, Monica Falkner and Filda Vui.
Netball New Zealand’s Sponsorship and Funding Manager Aimee Preest comments, “The beach clean-up initiative by Go Media was a fantastic idea which brought together the Mystics and Blues to support a great cause. The amount of rubbish we collected was incredible and it really opened my eyes to the impact of littering on our coastlines.”
"It’s great to partner with an organisation that cares about preserving our environment. Our beaches are a treasure, and working together to do our part in maintaining their beauty has been an incredibly fulfilling experience”, adds Phil Vyver, Northern Mystics CEO.
Blues GM Commercial, Todd Hewitt, said the club were proud of their long-standing relationship with Go Media. “It was great to have a few of the boys down at the beach last Friday to help clean up. Initiatives like this are perfect for our club – a chance to do something meaningful in our community as well as connect with both our sponsors and players from other codes in the region.”
With their unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and dedication to promoting positive social change across Aotearoa through their Good Impressions initiative, Go Media is well-positioned to continue making a positive impact in their local communities and inspiring others to join their efforts.
